Hey southaussie.
The CH yokes, pedals and throttle are a nice buy and your going to get allot more than your moneys worth out of these babies for years to come.
The programming on the CH products can be a long and painful one for the unprepared. You can expect to spend 1-2 hours minimum programming them just the way you want them and that’s the important part. Realizing that this is not going to be a quick plug and play exercise is half the battle. Not only that you will have to remap all the buttons in all the flight sims you own. If you’re like me that’s 5-6 flight sims that will need programming before you can get the most out of your new toys. All is not lost and with some of the more modern games it will be as simple as assigning functions to buttons. The satisfaction you will get from taking the time to do it properly will save you frustration later when you want to jump into a quick game of Falcon 4.
CH has made things a little bit easier in the last few years with the introduction of USB connection instead of the old Game port. This removed allot of issues people had with IRQ allocation and incompatibilities.
I would like to point you in the direction of two sites that may be helpful to you.
http://www.flightsim.com/cgi/kds?$=main/howto/chpro95.htm
http://www.frugalsworld.com/reviews/chyoke-rev.shtml
I hope some of this information was helpful, if you require more or just need a hand with something you’re stuck on feel free to email me, gavin@ausflightsim.net or make another post in our forums.
I wish you clear skies and may all your landings equal you takeoffs

AAAAAAAAAAAAAggggggggggggggggggghhhhhhhh!!!!
these ch yokes, throttle quadrants and pedals are a huge headache.
i have down loade the Control Manager version 4.0 for Dummies (must have been done just for me) by Ken "Ghost" King and the notes CMNOTE01 and CMNOTE02. i gets it to work fine... can fly the aircraft but when i shut computer down and restart it .... the yoke, TQ and pedals dont work ... i have to re enter everything in.
Its not often i soend nearly 800 dollars and buy a headache but i am going to persist that i will get it working.
flying the DC3 wityh pedals and yoke was a dream!!
if you are watching this space i just might be away along time fiddling with my 3 new toys and getting them to work. us old farts are a little slow with technology!!

I'm very sorry to hear your having some problems.
I find with CH products the quickest way to get what you want is to email there tech support.
They are very good and fast in my experience.
I have read about this problem before so i will have a look around the traps for the forum url.
Good luck in the meantime. _________________ AirBornComputers.com

Hi southaussie,
I was sure I'd mentioned this already but my recommendation is, unless you want to do something out of the ordinary, chuck the CD and forget about the controller software.
I had no problem getting them running in FS9 until I installed the software. Then I had no end to the problems. Uninstalled the software and things were good once again. With just a few re-assignments you should get them running just fine.
But hey, if you do figure out how to ge things working with the controller software it'd be great if you could pass on a few tips. _________________ Cheers, Adrian

OK ... so just connect them and let WinXP recpgnise then and assign the axises and buttons in the assignment section of FS9??
Now.... i have 4 slots on a USB card ... does it matter what slots i fit them into or could there be a conflict in any of them??

I can't speak from experience with the throttle quadrant but I would assume that Windows XP will recognise it also. As far as configuring assignments for it I was unable to find a guide on their website. But I don't think it would be that hard to do, just might have to leave the assignments for the throttle on the yolk for the quadrant. _________________ Cheers, Adrian

Have to agree with Adrian here.
I didnt even get the CD when I purchased my set of pedals and yoke, and everytime I read about someone having trouble with them, I am thankfull of that fact as, every cure is "Uninstall the software and let XP and FS9 sort it out themselves"
One peice of advice I have, would be to get hold of FSUIPC (registered payware version). It makes re-mapping of buttons/controls on the Yoke so simple. I have Pan/Zoom/PTTx2/trim/2d view mode all set up, and working on whatever aircraft I fly. I imagine that you could even remap the engine controls (throttle/mix/pitch) to something else if you have the throttle quadrant in use.

Just look out you don't have mapped 2 axis to the same event. This happened with me and had a long search to the cause my pedals gave strange reactions on my input. All solved by deleting the double entries. _________________

Just Brought FSX ...... anyone here have all of the above in FSX working and wouldn't mind sending me their .cfg file (and where to stick it)...... my brain aches. My aircraft roars out of its parking spot at 50,000 knots and wraps itself around a tree. (i am tring to take off from my home town YMPA)
