wouldnt it just be easier to use the existing FSX airports and modify them to the your needs. There are two airport editors avaliable and although in development, make editing airports easier the fs9 and afcad. here is one

FSXPlanner
http://www.fsdeveloper.com/forum/forumdisplay.php?f=83

it includes a runway sign creator and a exclude to remove the FSX ones, and many other things, here is the other

afcad for FSX you will need FSXPlanner and BGL2XML GUI and TestApp.exe and you must have please check first that you have Microsoft's dotNET 2.0. installed (you only need the run times) links are below and The SDK is not freely down loadable and is
supplied by Microsoft only with the deluxe version of FSX.

FSXPlanner
http://www.fsdeveloper.com/forum/forumdisplay.php?f=83
Open the zip file and "make a Folder called FSXPlanner " onto your Desktop , copy and paste all of zip files to FSXPlanner folder

Bgl2Xml GUI version 0.92 available and TestApp (GUI) version 0.81 or in SDE on this web site
http://www.scruffyduckscenery.co.uk
Open the zip file and "make 2 Folders one called Bgl2Xml GUI and one called SDETestApp " onto your Desktop , copy and paste all of zip files from the Bgl2Xml GUI to Bgl2Xml GUI folder.
and copy and paste all of zip files from the SDETestApp to SDETestApp folder.
I do not use the SDETestApp.

Microsoft's dotNET 2.0.
http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?FamilyID=0856eacb-4362-4b0d-8edd-aab15c5e04f5&displaylang=en

with FSXPlanner find airport let say looking for EGLL it is in Folder 0501 File APX47130.bgl. this is in Microsoft Flight Simulator X , Scenery folder.

Now open Bgl2Xml now look for input Blg you will have to work your work to Microsoft Flight Simulator X , Scenery folder and to folder 0501 and open and then to file APX47130.bgl , And then your output xml let say on Desktop or any folder you wish you most do this ever time the go this will Convert the bgl to a xml but this file will still have the name file APX47130.bgl on desktop so now you can open in FSXPlanner and work away. PLEASE DO NOT HAVE OUT PUT HAS Microsoft Flight Simulator X , Scenery folder HAS THIS WILL OVER WRITE FILE.

Now open FSXPlanner then open airport xml file which is on desktop now you will see that it shows a lot of airports so look for airport EGLL or any you wish to work with then save as Heathrow EGLL xml file to desktop to work on later if a big airpot or has a back up file and up can compile to bgl file will go in to Microsoft Flight Simulator X , Addon Scenery , scenery folder and start up Microsoft Flight Simulator X and go to the airport you have work on and you should see what you have this is the best way all is in the rigth place has in Microsoft Flight Simulator X .

You can Convert a FS9 AFCADS to a xml file with fs92fsx , NewBglAnalyze , and then can work in FSXPlanner but must only be xml file and not a bgl file but you will find that things are not in rigth places some are and some are not.

With FSXPlanner you will find that it show the rigth fold but the wrong file so you can use SDETestApp to open up any BGL file and open in SDETestApp and it will show all airports in that file then you can open that file when you find the airport you are looking for then open in Bgl2Xml GUI version 0.92 and then to a xml file so you can work in FSXPlanner

Hi all
Has you know working with afcad for fsx i have talk about on hear are free downloads software but now from Flight1 you can now get Airport Facilitator X which is a payware which cost $29.95 USD or £15.20 GBP which i have now got and i think this is a good buy has it work for FS9 & FSX .
Can import both stock and add-on FSX and FS2004 airports in the BGL format.
Connects to FS2004 and FSX using a special AFX module (included).
Allows you to to see the airport you are editing and all editing actions LIVE in Flight Simulator. This allows very easy positioning of airport elements relative to buildings, terrain features and other aspects of the scenery.

And now i can do away with all software that i work with for afcad now can go and just work with Airport Facilitator X.
