On Sunday my wife and I have been invited to a BBQ at a station up here in Cape York. They have a mustering helicopter and the guys asked if I would model it for FS* for them (Dont know which version). So I'm taking my cameras (Canon EOS1 mk2, and a little easy share) to get lots of pics. They also have two planes so I will look at them as well. I guess I will use the default MS bell as a base model for the flight characteristics. Would there be a better model to start from? MS locate there zero point at the front of the aircraft where as I like to start at the C/G. So using MS can be a handful at first.
The best news is that I might get to go for some rides.
Definitely will be looking for volunteers later in the project to evaluate the cow chaser.
Cheers Marty

G'day Marty, sounds like you might have a bit of fun this weekend. As for modeling the chopper, start with this.... centre of gravity??

Hey Marty,

That sounds sweet, what actual helicopter do they have? Get some pics up...

I can do a repaint for you... There is nothing wrong with them as long as they arnt selling it, if its just a gimick or for them to use i dont see how it hurts... Wink

Im not to good with modeling tho, I gave up cause i only had a old acabus program.. wouldnt mind getting a good program and learning it, Just find repainting a easy way to achieve the goal

I have a collection of mustering helicopters. Is it a 500, 206 or R22...?

I recon its pretty awesome to scoot around at low level in the choppers, keep it slow and your turns sharp, awesome fun... dunno how id go doing it for real tho, the engines perfomance would be on their max, and opperating below autorotation limits would be a lil scary... plus my stomach isnt that good...

One man in a mustering helicopter can achieve the work of many more men in the ground, Awesome pilots... Cool

I use DXTBMP 16 bit version easy as for repaints, i seem to adjust all my Textures to sharpen lines and add things, just modify in MSpaint and save through DXTBMP

Anyhow good luck take advantage of any flights you can

Simon

What an anti climax! The Helli was a red Robinson R22 Beta, FSX default.
My daughter disappeared with the owner/pilot and flew off into the sun rise, giving Dad the finger and not to being seen again that day. He is her boyfriend so I should have expected it. The beef they killed the day before was the toughest I think Ive ever eaten, and one has to experience the dirt roads up here in the cape to appreciate the 400 klm round trip drive. On the other hand the people, beer and wine were excellent. Still all in all, a worth while outing and I got some good photos.

Ahh bugger Marty, shame you didn't get up in the Robinson. Still if you took a few happy snaps I'd like to have a sticky beak!
