If you have an Nvidia video card and FSX isn't looking as good as It should, try the link above the results on my pc has been awesome,
AMD 3200+ nvidia 7600gt
crisp clear aircraft, better frame rates
available for 32 bit or 64bit highly recommended if my experience is typical
just point it as FSX.exe

Thanks Marty,
I've downloaded it and will check it out tonight.
BTW I have a very similar system to yours only diff is i have a a GEForce 6600gt, I would be very interested to see what sort of FPS you get and what set up you have on your card and in game.
I currently have no AA or AS filtering on the card but in the game I have Bilinear set, most of the other settings are about midway for scenery with FPS capped at 17 - this is not ideal but best I seem to be able to do to make it useable. Still gets very choppy in major airports and cities though.
I refuse to fly around on my own so always have AI traffic set to around 30% to 50% - biggest hit on FPS I think.
I'm going to post this on a seperate topic but you might be able to help - it's driving me nuts.
I recently purchased Combat Flight Sim 3 to spice up my flying a bit, I realise this is now a 5 year old game but it still looks good and there is still huge support for it in the FS community - any way I got it loaded, and to my suprise it refuses to run on my rig! Appears my GE 6600GT video card is not supported!! Go figure!!
Any ideas?

I have similar settings in FSX to those you describe except frame rates caped at 30 and aircraft details maxed. I am a country person and rarely flying cities .
I have not tried cbfsm3 but I can say that nHancer has made a huge difference to FSX . I just added FSX to nHancer's program list an left all settings on Auto. Not much help ,,,,,,,,,Marty
