Hi all,

I was wondering if there is a way to not spawn on the active runway when playing multiplayer? I have seen servers which state that if you spawn on the runway you will be kicked.

I know that you can spawn in the air near the host, but is there anyway to spawn on the airfield, but not on the runway?

Thanks in advance,
Leviathan.

Hi Leviathan,

Spawn isn't a term I've heard in the FS world before. Can you explain what you mean by spawn?

Hi Adrian,

Sorry, spawn is a term used in other games, and I had seen it on the server details.

Basically, it means to appear at a certain point when starting the game (or in other games where you appear after you have died and rejoined the game).

From what I have experienced so far when playing multiplayer, when I join the session at the airfield where the host has designated the starting point, I have always started (spawned) on the end of the runway.

As the ATC is not happy with that starting position, I want to start somewhere else on the airfield (as opposed to being in the air flying when I first enter the session).

Thanks for your help Adrian.
Leviathan.

Ah I see... now I know what you're talking about.
In FS you can specify your starting location right down to a gate or parking position on an airport. When you're creating your flight and selecting your airfield you are presented with a couple of drop down lists where you can select a runway/gate/parking space. Instead of selecting Active Runway or any of the other runways you should select a gate or parking location.

Hope that helps.

Adrian next time i come and see you with my computer in hand i'm going to show you the world of FPS shooters. Spawning is a very common term for anything from quake to HL2.
