From the flight deck, good afternoon and welcome...,

I trust this is the right area to post this. If not, no doubt the Administrator will move it.

I am having trouble hearing the default ATC voices with this aircraft.

I call up the ATC window (using the ~ key), then select the ground control frequency (the radios automatically tune); request an IFR clearance then nothing happens.

I purchased the CD version from Just Flight (released 21 Dec 2007) and there is nothing on their website about this issue - only patches about the fonts they used (see an earlier post of mine).

Any ideas? Many thanks.

Nick

Hello all,

Whilst it is odd responding to your own post, I thought I'd reply as I now know what caused my problem, and, in case others are having difficulties with other add on aircrafts, what I discovered may help.

At the time of writing the original post, I had, as my default flight, the default Cessna at Seattle with the engine, battery and avionics off. the mixture was lean and the throttles at idle. This ensured that all aircraft loaded with a cold & dark cockpit.

As I understand it, FS9 remembers the default state and opens each aircraft in the way the default flight is set.

The PSS 757 requires that the avionics be on with the default flight. It seemed to be a PSS (RIP) condition before the very first flight with any of its aircraft, that a default aircraft be loaded, take off, gear retracted then extended etc before its aircraft would work properly.

And so it is with the 757. Now my default flight is the cessa at Seattle with the battery on, avionics on, ignition off. Now my aircrafts are not so "dark" at the gate (aircraft powered with avionics on, battery on engines off).

I can now hear the default ATC. Hope this assists.

Nick
