Adding some colour? lol.

It looks like you dipped it in colour Smile
No in all seriousness it looks great and I can’t wait to see it in the famous 77 SQN colours. Wink

Kind Regards,

Thanks fellas, I'll keep you updated as I progress along. I'm looking forward to seeing it wearing Australian markings too, particularly 3, 75,76,77 and 450 RAAF Sqns (I've already picked out the schemes I want to do first) but also the 49th Fighter Group (USAAC) and of course 112 Sqn (RAF) Sharkmouths.

There are so many great schemes for the P-40s I'll have to include a paint kit in the release to encourage everyone to do lots of painting! Very Happy

Hi Winjeel

Very nice work wish i could get hang of doing one just getting in to repaints first.

Is the FSX Acceleration P-40 D/E WIP only for the FSX Acceleration and will this work if you have Flight Simulator X Service Pack 2.

G'day Viper, well, the P-40s are being built using the acceleration/SP2 SDK tools, so the model itself will show up fine in FSX SP2. However, I'm aliasing the Mustang's sound set from Acceleration, so in a straight SP2 installation you would need to set a new alias or import new sounds.

More serious is the flight model; I'm using the supercharged engine parameters of Acceleration (ie you can easily overboost and get detonation and engine damage). I assume SP2 can employ these new parameters of the flight model, but I haven't tested that. Similarly I haven't tried it in a straight SP1 version either, but I wouldn't expect that to work properly.

So I'm guessing it will work fine in SP2 apart from the sound configuration which is easily changed anyway. I'll get a definitive answer when I start Beta testing Wink
