I've had trouble getting even FS9 to run on my P4 2GHtz, 1GB RAM, 128Mb ATI machine. Been experiencing very bad frame rates. I think something in there is fried but it will be interesting to see if FSX will run without the problems I've had with FS9.

Haven't we all noticed how FS9 runs perfectly at default straight
out of the box
the minute you put the addons in all hell breaks loose
and i'm betting FSX will be exactly the same
we seem to have got used to all those wonderful addons
over the last few years and i can see FSX will be great once the developers get to grips with it

Spot on Pete,

From what I know it's used as part of Shared Skies i.e. Multiplayer where you can become a tower controller. A pretty neat feature but we've had better than that for some time now with groups like VATSIM and the like. Will be interesting to see it in action none the less.

Hello Antoni !

Do not ask why,but here in Germany ,on nearly all conventions, they say forget about laptops, when you think about FSX.
What I can tell you is,FSX would not run with half the settings.
Unfortunately FSX needs so much Power, that you normally "must have"
a "real Wink " PC system.
Why are you looking for a laptop, will you use it mainly for other things?
If you will look under " Hardware and Computer" you will find very, very interesting articles from Gavin. They are worth twice to be read.Afterwards you will know, what kind of PC you need.

Scotty

Unless you have money, burning holes in your pocket you won’t want a laptop running FSX. Laptops that can make FSX perform well cost in excess of $6,500

Moreover, the best thing about FSX is the stunning visuals, why limit your self to a small laptop monitor?

Kind Regards,

Gavin Gillett

Yes, it will work but with very limited performance. Your flying experiance would be a slideshow around airports and cities and not very much fun.

Hi Antoni

Are you trying to pull our legs mate? Smile FSX can push system RAM over 1GB just loading the main menu given the right conditions. Let alone run FSX with everything turned up and be highly playable. 128meg GFX cards omg you must be making a joke when you say "fsx is working fine with all the settings up to max".

Gavin.

Kind Regards,

Gavin Gillett
