I was sold flight Sim X Deluxe and told that this included the Acceleration pack - but I'm now thinking this may have been wrong. I would appreciate knowing the facts.

When I start the program it tells me there is a service pack 1 available but on the service pack page it does not mention deluxe anywhere. Is Service Pack 1 suitable for Flight Sim X Deluxe?

regards, Mark

Hello Mark !

As you know, there are two different versions of FSX available.
The standard version and the deluxe. Both are coming without any Service Packs. But you can get SP1 and SP2 for free and for both versions( one edition ) via internet. The Acceleration Pack includes SP2 and is available for both versions.( again, one edition ) The price in Germany for the ACCPack is nearly the same as for the standard version Sad .
The difference between standard and deluxe are the numbers of missions and planes included. For my opinion, the deluxe version is to be preferred.

Sorry for my english,

Scotty

Btw: Welcome to the forum,Mark

Ive been searching to find out what the go is and Ive found out this.

1.Install FSX.
2. Install Acceleration.

If you DONT have Acceleration.

1. Install FSX
2. Install SP1
3. Install SP2

NOTE;
Service Pack 2 does not include the code updates required to use the new Flight Simulator X: Acceleration aircraft. You must purchase and install Flight Simulator X: Acceleration to use those aircraft.
After you have installed Service Pack 2, you will be able to play multiplayer games only with users who have installed either Service Pack 2 or Flight SimulatorX: Acceleration.

After you install Service Packs 1 and 2, do not reinstall Service Pack 1.
If you install SP2 and later purchase Flight Simulator X: Acceleration, you must uninstall SP2 before installing Acceleration.
