As I posted earlier I am thinkering over a new pc. This is mainly Gavin's fault for putting the thought in my mind. My question relates to sli. Is it better better having two lesser video cards or one better Quality one. As time passes and Video cards that are available now become cheaper, is there an advantage to buying the best card now and another as prices drop. Or is the only way to take advantage of sli to two of the latest and greatest.
My wife gets very, I cant think of the right word, exasperated with me when it comes to buying things. she just sees and buys, I look, look some more think about it, talk about it, procrastinate? I just like to take my time, the contemplation of buying is almost as good as the buying, but of course I do not want to waste my limited resources .(cash)
So Joe whats the go, latest and greatest vc or two just a little behind. it all sounds a little sli to me.

Marty,

If it was me, being a flight simmer still migrating to FSX I need something that is DX10 compatible. So that means an nVidia 8800, already top of the range. My best bet would be go for one of those now and SLI them later when you can fork out for the second card.
