Hi everyone, my name is Richard, and I live in the Adelaide Hills. I've been flight simming for quite a while now, starting with FS95. I've been modelling aircraft for MS flight sims for most of that time, mostly for my own use but some get released out onto the web.
The last few years I have been concentrating on CFS3, and I am part of the "Desert Rats" team which built the Mediterranean Air War add on for CFS3, as well as various contributions to the AvHistory team.
Currently I'm building for FSX, working on a series of P-40's starting with the D (Kittyhawk I), and hopefully finishing with a Q. Easy to see I like warbirds!
Anyway, good to be here and hopefully we'll meet in some of the other forums.
I haven't played CFS3, mainly IL2, but since I upgraded my PC to Vista 64 I haven't been able to IL2 1946 to work. What's CFS3 like? How does it compare to IL2 1946 (if you've played it)?

G'day Nosf3ra2, I haven't used any of the IL2 series, so I can't compare CFS3 to them, but I can give my view of CFS3.
The flight sim community around the world has made many different add ons for CFS3, which can make flying the game hundreds of times better than the out-of-the-box version. There are several groups which have dedicated their efforts to make complete standalone versions with different themes; OFF (Over Flanders Fields) is a WWI version, MAW (Mediterranean Air War) is a whole new theatre in the MTO, the PTO (Pacific Theatre of Operations), and Korean Skies to name a few. Then of course is the thousands of people who make contributions of aircraft, or repaints, or new clouds, tanks, ships, weapons, etc, etc .....
Of course it shows it age when compared to FSX (it's 6 years old now), but it's still easy to have a good time with it. If you like combat flying, then I'd reccomend you try it out.

Hi Winjeel,
Wow, I must apologise for not welcoming you sooner. I've been away from AusFlightSim for the last couple of weeks. Been busy with the store.
However, welcome to the site and forums. We're a great bunch of simmers here and it's always great to see developers coming aboard to hang out with us.
Hey perhaps you could provide us with a few links to your work and maybe even upload your publicly available creations here in our file library. _________________ Cheers, Adrian
